Small Airbnbs are my favorite spaces to design and host guests. I compiled a list of small Airbnb ideas for you to dive into to understand that you can make an impact in a small space.
I know that real money can be made in small Airbnb spaces because you can have high occupancy. Higher occupancy than other listings because it’s easier to attract guests any day of the year rather than weekend crews.

1. The guest house Airbnb
This was the first Airbnb I ever took live in 2019! It was the guest house on my personal property. It’s a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom 690 square foot guest house that was fully renovated for less than $15,000 in the initial remodel. I borrowed furniture from a friend and only reworked one wall to make the kitchen space more useable.
Over the years, I’ve added different furniture and a new outdoor deck, lighting and other things to make it better. But that initial start up cost was so low for taking our first space live back in 2019. Back then, no one was making pretty spaces for Airbnb. They were just throwing up a space with used furniture and making a killing.

2. The garage conversion Airbnb
This is a 360 square foot garage conversion that is now a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom mid term rental property. If you have a garage or existing structure that is a great way to get an Airbnb going on your property. This space doesn’t have a dining area but there’s a living room, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom all within the tiny foot print of this old garage.
3. The ADU Airbnb
This ADU was built on the back end of a triplex and is 380 square feet. It’s a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with a kitchen and a living room but like the garage conversion, it does not have a dining space. The space is perfect for 2 people and cozy. It was so fun to bring together and decorate.
4. The 1bed/1bath apartment Airbnb
This is an apartment that is in a triplex that is historic. It has a ton of 1940s charm! The spacious 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom is a small Airbnb and an original in the small Airbnb ideas.
