If you’re looking to take your guest experience to the next level, you should consider integrating an Airbnb welcome package for your guests! Many 5 star hosts do this and it takes their guest experience to a whole new level. It allows them to charge more and attract a better guest in the long run.
The best thing you can do as Airbnb host is to put your guest first. Ensuring they have the best experience possible for what you’re offering is going to secure that 5 star review and keep guests booking.
This post is all about Airbnb welcome package.
9 Airbnb Welcome Package Ideas
1. Snacks & Beverages
Having an Airbnb welcome package full of snacks and beverages is going to be a crowd favorite. It has mass appeal and is such a nice touch when guests are coming in from a long travel day. If you’re operating on a smaller budget this can be as cost effective as you need it to be. I’ve seen hosts do anything from small bottled waters and crackers to a variety of beverages and large snack packs.
You could curate your snacks and ask guests with their favorites by surveying them during your booking process. This is really a low lift for your cleaning team to restock and maintain. If you use prepackaged, single-serve items it makes carrying extra inventory easy and ensures a smooth restocking experience.

2. 21+ Beverages
If your listing appeals to couples or a higher end clientele, leaving something nicer like a bottle of wine or champagne is a great Airbnb welcome package. This is also super easy for your turnover team to manage. You’ll just need to make sure that the guests who booked are over the legal drinking age for liability purposes.
But talk about a relaxing way for your guests to toast to their arrival and enjoy their first night. So many would give this touch a 5 star for experience.
3. Local products and samples
I have experienced this as a guest and it was just the most fun. It was at an Airbnb I stayed at in Italy and was just the best touch for the location we were in. I had done a lot of research on attractions I wanted to see but my host had curated a welcome package full of local products and samples from restaurants, cafes and shops right in the neighborhood. You better believe we checked out all the vendors that were represented in our welcome package. It made us feel confident about the area we stayed in and exploring local eats.
4. Discounts to local attractions
Hotels are so good at this. If you visit a concierge desk they will most likely have discounts available from attractions in the area for their guests. Think through why guests travel to your area and reach out to those attractions regarding any discounts or freebies they could provide your guests. The benefit you’re selling is the fact that you will be directly marketing to all your guests to go to the attraction. Most business owners will understand the value of this and want to partner with you.
5. S’mores basket
I have a firepit at a couple of my properties and think this is such a fun touch! One of my cabins that is coming online will definitely have a S’mores basket for our guests coming to enjoy the cabin. This would be the perfect Airbnb welcome package if you advertise having a fire pit as a main amenity.
6. Seasonal package
Every season brings reason for guests to travel. If your property gets traffic throughout the year, having a seasonally theme Airbnb welcome package is a great way to wow your guests! This could be in the form of any of the ideas above but made for the holiday or season you’re currently in.
For Christmas time, you could have cookie decorating packages. Around Halloween, small candies for trick or treating. During summer time, some water balloons or a beach kit if you’re near the water. So many endless possibilities with the changing season and holidays year round.

7. Family friendly package
If you have a listing that is catered to families. Having a family friendly welcome package is a perfect way to ensure you’re the go-to listing for any family looking to travel to your location. Some ideas could be snacks, games, books, activities and favorite beverages. Any parents traveling with kids young and old will appreciate the extra touch and be sure to leave you a raving review!
8. “All the necessities” Airbnb welcome basket
I don’t know about you, but I tend to forget things when I’m traveling. Having an Airbnb welcome basket with the basics like toothpaste, tooth brush, razor, coffee, tissues, makeup remover and whatever else you can think of a guest may need. I feel like this is so practical especially if you’re in a more remote location where getting basic necessities are harder to come by at a store.
9. Themed welcome package
This ties back to the article where we talked about Airbnb theme ideas for your properties. Having an Airbnb welcome package that matches the theme of your listing or your area is a great way to take the experience to a new level. If this applies to your listing, think through how you can surprise your guests with something to enhance the welcome through a matching beverage, snack or amenity that they weren’t necessarily expecting. The point is to surprise and delight and leave your guests always feeling better about their experience than their expectations.
That’s my secret to keeping all my listings 5 star properties. I under promise and over deliver. It’s a simple equation that works on 99% of the population across any industry.
